Stevenson Consulting assisted in constructing the 18,000-sf Paul and Phyllis Galanti Education Center. This project, the joint effort of public and private funding, opened in September 2010 and grew the annual visitation to the War Memorial overall. It also played a role in redirecting the focus of the memorial to honoring all veterans with historical and military-related exhibits, classrooms, meeting rooms, a research library and two theaters.

VA War Memorial – Expansion

DVS Offices and Parking Deck

The Virginia War Memorial Expansion will include a Memorial Shrine, administrative offices, a lecture hall and basement level parking for 154 vehicles. New construction work is comprised of a two-story steel structure of type IIB construction, approximately 19,500 gross square feet, over three basement levels of post-tensioned concrete construction.

The new structure will be connected to the east end of the Paul and Phyllis Galanti Educational Center. The project has been designed and is intended to be constructed to achieve LEED Silver certification.
