Fort Totten Square is a mixed-use apartment project in Northwest Washington, D.C. The project consists of over 425,000 sf of new development, which includes residential untis and 130,000 sf of retail. The retail includes in-line neighborhood services, food service, a Wal-Mart Grocery store, and a retail anchor tenant. Since the project is within a five minute walk to the Fort Totten Metro Station, the project is considered a transit-oriented development. The design consisted of a foundation system supported by auger cast piles, followed by 7 stories of post tensioned reinforced concrete decks.
